Here are my two contest entries for "(Life is Too Short Not To) Wear Red Shoes"

I'm not much of a photographer, but I love the necklace prizes so I thought I'd give it a try!

Silly Bands, Apple Goop, and Atheism

Fyi to readers- sorry all the text in this post is so BIG (it's annoying!) I obviously did something wrong, and as crazy as it drives me, I don't have time to fix it. Sorry! :)

I would like to take a moment and inform you of a beautiful, wonderful little fact.

Fall. is. BEAUTIFUL!

Yesturday, I made a DELICIOUS apple pie! Well, while it was baked like a pie, it is not very easily sliced. It's much easier to get a spoon and glop it onto your plate. Therefore, it is apple glop. Delicious apple glop!

Contest- What on earth is this silly band?Just so the whole world can know: I am terrible with silly bandz. I don't mind the fad, I don't

find it sacrilegious, brainless or idiotic. I simply find them very confusing. I couldn't tell if

mine was an anchor or an evil baby with horns. Thank goodness, I also had a simple hippo...

(but it also looked like a pig! Was nature meant to be that flexible?)

Anyways, while biking through the park today, I found this silly band :

In all honesty, I can't tell whether it is:

a. A decapitated Santa

b. Darth Vader holding hockey pucks in his nose

c. (upside down) a tutu

d. A two-headed dinosaur

And you thought I was lying about being awful with these things?

Okay, aside from that sacrilegious, brainless, idiotic stuff... here is the song of the day :)

If you don't like classical music... get over it. No but really, there is some very exciting classical music in the world; not for the faint-hearted.

Word of the day- Preposterous what could be more satisfying, while in the midst of a heated argument, than saying "That's preposterous!" In fact, I find this entire thesaurus entry very stimulating. http://thesaurus.com/browse/stupid
Do yourself a favor and read it!

Tomorrow, I will be...

fighting valiant battles with red pens (Lit class)
being a ninja (self defense class!)
Cooking, frying, scorching, burning... learning how to use the fire extinguisher... (Home ec - no we try not to burn things :)

Observing complex life forms inside 2 week old pond-scum. And smelling it. (Bio
logy. Doesn't that smell lovely?)

If I don't see this ---->

under my microscope, I can going to be severely disappointed!

Final thought for today's post--

I am officially coming out as a math atheist.

Okay, well, I might kind-of-sort-of stink at blogging... :) Just maybe.

A word to sum up this day? Rain. From the minute I woke up, until tonight, it has been raining almost non-stop. And it is wonderful!

--Picture of the Day--

The quality of the picture will improve if you click on it!

This picture took so many tries. (but don't you love the puddle-y reflection in the wood? :)

When someone like me doesn't have a photographer... you have to be resourceful. Since the rain was pouring like lions and tigers, and bears, oh my, I use an old broken lawn chair, forced the umbrella to stick between the slats, and put the camera underneath the umbrella. Very risky business.

Boredom breeds creativity. Oh believe, it's been worse.

Song of the day :)

I'm officially a fan of Nickel Creek! I'm in love with the acoustics of this song... It all fits together beautifully. Plus, isn't the music video great?

~CrAfTiNg sort of ThInGs~

Well, after multiple tries, I can't get this my new picture to upload! So, small number of followers and/or stalkers, You will have to wait until tomorrow to see my new crafty sort of things. My apologies!

This is a simple little card I made last month. Not my favorite, but I like incorporating unique things into cards (like denim, puff paint, comic strips...)

I am thinking of some cool things to do with old sheet music that I don't need anymore. Pictures to come!

So, what else have I really been doing all this time?

Shucks, not all that much. I had another soccer game, AND WE SKUNKED 'EM! I scored two goals! :)

For school? I'm sure you wanted to know about my exhilarating school life... I wrote a paper comparing and contrasting Black Beard and Al Capone *insert Beethoven's 5th here*

BiOloGy... Ooh. Scary. It's very interesting, in a boring sort of way. Fortunately, I have a wonderful teacher :) But my, I really have to work to wrap my brain around these complex little details of biology. Say, this reminds me of a very lame joke...

So, a big neutron accidentally slams into a little neutron.
The big neutron apologizes profusely, "I'm sooo sorry little Neutron! Are you okay?"
The little neutron says, "Oh, yeah, it's okay, I'm fine!"
The big neutron says, "I slammed into you pretty hard, are you sure you're okay?
Then the little neutron says, "Yeah, I'm positive!"

Okay, stop groaning :)

And this is kind of how I feel about Algebra!

Seriously, I'm starting to think there's some sort of secret mathematical code of imaginary number that you all aren't telling me about...

Amazingly enough, I actually have a few followers! I don't know how it happened, because I'm pretty sure that I have only sent my link to one person-- but thanks :)

I really appreciate it! Please comment, cause you know I'd love it ;)

If you've got any ideas, questions... complaints, insults.... Well, whatever you have, just leave it for me!

Laaater :)

Oh, the mundanity

Today? The definite highlight was my soccer game!

My soccer team is all girls, with a ridiculous amount of players. I felt quite guilty though, our team has 21 players (enough for 2 teams), while our opponents didn’t have a single sub.

They played well, but we won 8-0. I scored one of those goals!

In my ‘quick thinking’ during the game, I called to a player on my team to “watch the short one”, as in, watch out because that player is going to make a short pass to their team mate. Another girl on the other team looked at me with a deathly glare in her eyes and said, “Look, I’m not deaf, I can tell that you’re talking about me.” I apologized profusely, and told her I definitely didn’t mean to insult her height! Besides, I am rather height challenged myself.

After studying my biology book long and hard, I know far more about bacteria, parasites, and other deadly organisms, than I ever wanted to know.

I could really use a back rub right now, but unfortunately no one is able (or willing…) to give me one.

Song of the Day:

I can’t get enough of that song! I almost die of ecstasy every time we sing it at church :)

Quotes of the Day: Always forgive your enemies; nothing annoys them so much.

--Oscar Wilde

“You can’t just turn on creativity like a faucet. You have to be in the right mood.” “What mood is that?” “Last minute panic”

- - Calvin and Hobbes, by Bill Watterson.

Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord. Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.

- Romans 12:11-12

I am trying to think of some sort of either witty, profound, or heart-wrenching posts for your enjoyment. No guarantees...

But I guess that's all from me, for now! :)

Here Goes Nothing...

Well… this would be a blog. I don’t have a very specific purpose in writing this, but I thought maybe for those friends who I never see or hear from, people who seems to be fairly interested with my life, or maybe just stalkers… I would type out various things. Whoooo knows. Besides, a few people told me I seemed like the blogging type. I don’t know if that’s an insult, or compliment though…

I will try to -

1. Restrain myself from making this blog a place to record endless gossip

2. Refrain from posting only about music. Believe me, that's something I would fall into.

3. Keep it positive :)

Quotes :)

Reality continues to ruin my life. ~ Calvin and Hobbes

"Sometimes, Piglet, people like each other people just a little too much. And that's called love" ~ Winnie the Pooh

For youth is when things that do not matter,
matter terribly"
